When I was a kid, my parents and grandparents both had huge gardens. We were allowed to go out whenever we wanted and pick whatever we wanted, and eat it. One of our favorites was picking peas. YUM! My grandpa would make us little canoes out of the pea pods and we would float them in mud puddles.
Today we got some veggies from our CSA, including some peas - still in the pod. I was thrilled and when we got home I made each girl a pea pod canoe to play with. Luckily they have a water table to play with outside, so no mud puddles for them!
