Toothpaste

Last Sunday I forgot to write down a story here!  We were wrapped up in the moment and I forgot to record it.

Idgie ate toothpaste.  It was some of that kid stuff that tastes like bubble gum.  We realized it when she wouldn't eat breakfast, and then she started throwing up.  The vomit smelled like bubble gum.  The tube said to call poison control and we learned that fluoride is actually quite toxic and even potentially lethal!  Then told us that since she was throwing up, we should take her in.  So we did our yearly tradition of heading to the ER.  The watched her for awhile and she didn't throw up anymore.  They gave her a half of a Zofran pill for nausea and told us to make sure she drinks milk because apparently that binds with the fluoride.  Out of the process she also got a new stuffed bear from the hospital that she now insists she sleeps with along with the rest of her collection of lovies!

Rating:  1 tube of bubble gum toothpaste

So basically you taught her to get a new lovie, you eat toothpaste.
That is awesome!

Yeah, it's the calcium in milk that will bind to fluoride.

I've smelt bubble gum-flavored puke before. But, chocolate is still my favorite...as it were.
